UK Code of Conduct Template

This policy sets the behavioral standards expected of everyone working for or representing [Organisation Name], including employees, contractors, and agency staff.
These standards apply across all working environments: company premises, client or supplier sites, work events, and online spaces where you are identifiable as representing [Organisation Name].

FAQs on a code of conduct
01What is a code of conduct?
A code of conduct sets the behavioral standards expected of everyone working for or representing your organisation, including employees, contractors, and agency staff.
Having it written down means the same rules apply to everyone, so managers are not making judgement calls case by case under pressure.
02What does a code of conduct include?
This template covers organisational commitment, behavioural standards, conflicts of interest, gifts, and hospitality and asset and information security.
Every section is written to be filled in. The bracketed placeholders mark the decisions that are yours to make, such as timescales, approval owners and retention periods.
03How to implement a code of conduct with Whale
Copy this template into Whale and work through the bracketed placeholders so it reflects how your organisation actually operates.
Assign it to the teams it applies to so it sits where people work rather than in a shared drive, and set a review date so it gets revisited on schedule instead of quietly going out of date.
